How Advanced Cataract Surgery is Transforming Lives

With credentials including MS Ophthalmology, FICO (London), FVRS (Retina), and FRCSN (Cornea), my journey has been fueled by a passion for innovation and a commitment to improving patient outcomes.
A Defining Moment: My Journey into Ophthalmology
My path in eye care was inspired by a conversation with my Principal during my MBBS years. Learning about the evolving field of eye surgery, particularly corneal procedures, captivated me. Witnessing patients lose their vision to preventable conditions like cataracts, glaucoma, and diabetes solidified my resolve to make a difference in ophthalmology.
Breakthroughs in Cataract Surgery
Cataracts remain a leading cause of blindness, but thanks to modern advancements, treatment has never been more precise. Traditional cataract surgeries have evolved to incorporate premium intraocular lenses (IOLs) and Extended Depth of Focus (EDOF) lenses. These state-of-the-art solutions provide clearer vision and significantly reduce dependence on glasses, vastly improving patients’ quality of life.
However, one of the biggest hurdles in cataract treatment is patient awareness. Many still view it as a basic procedure, unaware of the premium options available to them. As a specialist, my role extends beyond surgery—I strive to educate my patients about the latest advancements and tailor solutions to their unique needs.
Revolutionizing Retina Care
Retinal diseases, such as diabetic retinopathy, are another major cause of blindness. Fortunately, innovations like intravitreal injections and diabetic lasers are proving to be game-changers in managing these conditions. These treatments slow disease progression and, in many cases, help restore lost vision.
In my work with the UK-based Keeler MIO prototype, an advanced diagnostic tool, I have witnessed firsthand how early detection of diabetic and glaucoma-related changes can lead to timely interventions and better outcomes for patients.
Bridging the Awareness Gap
One of the biggest challenges in ophthalmology is the lack of awareness about modern treatment options. Many patients delay seeking help, unaware of how much the field has progressed. My mission is to bridge this knowledge gap, ensuring that people have access to world-class eye care in Delhi and Gurugram.
